Professor Liz Falconer interviewed by Christel Schneider
Liz Falconer is Professor of Technology Enhanced Learning and Director of the Education Innovation Centre at the University of the West of England, Bristol, UK. She is responsible for leading the TEL strategy in the university. She has published in national and international journals and spoken at international conferences on subjects related to TEL, majoring upon situated and contextual learning in virtual environments to support simulation and practice-based learning.
In the interview, Prof Liz Falconer talks about the affordances of using virtual environments to give University students a wider range of ‘realistic’ experience in various subjects. Liz Falconer is initiator and director of the UWE Innovation Island in Second Life where the MA education in virtual worlds is being offered this year, for the third time.
