Nik Peachy held a great webinar via IATEFL on ‘Getting the most out of online video resources’ (NB you have to have your IATEFL Login to see it) which took place on Saturday, 30 August 2014. The tools Nik presented for exploiting online video to help students and get them listening and speaking were well received and tried out immediately by participants of the webinar. Applications presented work for machinima productions just as well. For IATEFL members the webinar session has been saved in the archive to watch and listen to.
The application most attendees liked best was the EdPuzzle. This tool lets you select a short clip for demonstration. One can replace the soundtrack and learners can record their own voice as the new sound track. It could easily be set up with students. Facilitators can add audio questions and comments to make specific points.
